Geneva 2011: Porsche Boxster E, without the noise of the flat-six

Porsche announced that its Boxster E  will provide a "rolling laboratory"for the development of new technologies. The latter has two electric engines (one in each wheel) which claim a total power of 180 kW-equivalent to 245 horsepower

Thus equipped, the German would display the same lap time on the exercise with the 0 to 100 km / h than the Boxster S Classic, or 5.3 seconds. Lithium-ion batteries have a capacity of 29 kWh.

The prototype will be presented at next month's Geneva Motor Show, but should not derive a standard version. Porsche plans to take a marketing electric models, but in the long term ...
