NASCAR - Kurt Busch won the Bud Shootout

The Budweiser Shootout starts the season every year in NASCAR, even if this race does not count for the championship. Previously limited to pilots who had signed at least one pole the previous season, this event hosts now also former champions, participants in the Chase last and best rookies last decade.

The race consists of two segments, the first of 25 laps and the second 50, with an interruption.

The 2011 also revealed the new coating of Daytona. The traditional races in packs seem to belong to the past, now with the drivers most often separated into pairs.
A victory on green carpet

At the start of the last lap, Ryan Newman was leading Denny Hamlin, Kurt Busch and Jamie McMurray. The four men were far ahead of their competitors.

In the final turn, Busch and McMurray were shifted to the outside line. Inside, Hamlin McMurray has doubled, but cut the inside line, which is forbidden.

On the finish line, Hamilton was right in front of Busch. It was later downgraded and the victory went to Busch.

Jamie McMurray is ranked in second place in front of Ryan Newman, Jimmie Johnson, Greg Biffle, Jeff Gordon and Kevin Harvick.
